Pupil Voice
The term ‘Pupil Voice’ describes how learners give their input to what happens within the Academy. Our desire is for our learners to recognise that their expertise, opinions and ideas are valued in all aspects of school life. Pupil Voice permeates all levels of our work, from learners participating in small group classroom conversations to establishing procedures, organising events and contributing to the overarching ethos of the Academy through our Academy Ambassadors Programme.
Boston Pioneers Academy uses a range of ways to “hear” our learners' voices.
These include:
- Our Academy Ambassadors – an elected group who share ideas and plan events
- Class discussions and assemblies, particularly around 'Picture News' when topical matters are debated.
- Sharing of views with their teachers and class team
- Conversations with the school leadership team and subject leads as part of their monitoring.
- Mentoring sessions with our Family Support Workers
- Conversations with the Trust senior leaders as part of School Reviews
All of the above enables us to take the views of our learners into account when planning or evaluating life in school.
We also hold an annual pupil survey. The results of our latest pupil voice survey (Nov 24) can be seen below:
